Behind-The-Ear (BTE)

BTE hearing aids, the most common type, sit behind the ear with a tube to a custom earpiece. They work well for various types of hearing loss and are easy to use.

Image

Receiver-In-Canal (RIC)

RIC hearing aids are small and fit discreetly in the ear canal. They use wires instead of tubes for better sound quality, and are good for mild to moderate hearing loss.

In-The-Ear (ITE)

ITE hearing aids are custom-molded for the outer ear, good for moderate to severe hearing loss, and come in various colors.

Image

In-The-Canal (ITC)

ITC hearing aids are smaller and more discreet than ITE. They are good for mild to moderate hearing loss and blend in with the ear.

Completely-In-Canal (CIC)

CIC aids are very discrete, reaching furthest into the canal. However, they require more fittings, shorter battery life, and may be harder to handle. Consider dexterity limitations.

Invisible-In-Canal (IIC)

IIC aids: Smallest, most discreet. Fit deeper in the ear canal for near invisibility (great for those who prioritize discretion). Ideal for mild-moderate hearing loss.
